Product Description; MK-II, the fourth generation of the SQ38 series released in 1974, is a further evolution of the LUXMAN’s representative tube-type pre-main amplifier. Dimensions: W 476 x H 190 x D 335mm Weight 18kg Click here for details.This product has undergone thorough maintenance and overhaul, including revival of defective contacts and replacement of deteriorated parts, to restore the high sound quality of the past so that it can be used with peace of mind for many years to come. The only drawback of vintage amplifiers, the power supply, was replaced from 2-pin to 3-pin inlet. This allows the use of extra thick power cables of your choice, which further improves the sound quality. In addition, special emphasis has been placed on the sound outlet and speaker terminals to improve the power transmission and operability. By replacing the gold-plated plugs with gold-plated plugs that are compatible with extra-thick cables and banana plugs, we have created specifications that respond to the user’s preference for ease of operation and sound quality. Main maintenance items;For the internal circuitry, the volume control volume, switches, etc. were disassembled, cleaned, contact points were restored, and the output transformer was replaced. We removed resin from each part, replaced block capacitors in the power supply section, replaced power diodes, coupling capacitors, added circuits for bias adjustment, and made other improvements and repairs. The output tubes were bias adjusted at 70% of maximum loss to extend the life of the tubes. In addition, a wide range of other replacements and repairs have been made. The sound, especially the sound of wind instruments, has a transparent tone that is typical of LUXMAN. The output is well balanced, so JBL 4311, 4312 series, etc. are playing a powerful sound quality with plenty of room. We also carefully check for noise caused by repeated contact failures and other problems after listening for long periods of time in a dead environment with little sound reflection.
