Several people have asked if I could split the lot up and sell just half of it. Yes, I will be separating the two this week so I will re-post separate listings. One listing will be for the conveyor belt system only. The other listing will be for the roller system with tracks and stands, sold separately. The price for the conveyor system will be $2000. Please let us know if you need additional photos. * More information about the maker is at the bottom of this listing. This is a vintage incline-decline conveyor belt system, circa 1950s. This was used for over 40 years in a wholesale warehouse. It was set up at a loading dock door on the street level, and went up two flights of straight stairs to a second story warehouse space. See photos of how it was placed going up a flight of stairs. It is missing the original control switch which was mounted at the top of the stairs. Having it mounted there allowed the operator to turn it on and off, and to shift it into forward motion or in reverse motion. The original set up worked like this: A truck would arrive to unload, the conveyor tracks on rolling stand would be set up from the truck to the building with the door open. The rollers would roll the box to the beginning of the conveyor belt. The box would travel up the staircase area, two flights up, then it would arrive on another roller track system with a curve in it. An inventory clerk would receive the box at the top and roll it on a cart to storage shelves. When we purchased an old building it was set up. We never used it since it didn’t have power hooked up to it. We carefully disassembled it and brought it over to a nearby building. It is presently stacked in a dry warehouse with easy access for backing in a truck or trailer. Please note: the warehouse doors are not tall enough for a standard big rig tractor to back in. It is not a drive-through warehouse. Warehouse door measures 11 ft tall x 14 ft wide. Driveway has a slight slope. Here are the dimensions for the conveyor. It has 4 sections. The first is the landing section and it is 26 1/2″ long. The 1st section going up stairs is 7'6″. The second section is 10'. The third section is 10'. The 4th section is 10' 6″ and it has a welded on section that is flat at top of stairs where the motor is. The width of the entire thing is 18 7/8″. The height of the pieces is 35″, you know if you are looking at the sections from the side. The conveyor is 14 1/4″ wide and is in decent shape. The belt is rolled up, see photos. As noted in some of the photos, it was mounted on a stairway as an incline conveyor belt system for heavy boxes. The missing control switch had stop, forward, and reverse buttons. This listing includes the original conveyor belt material which has a continuous circular movement. Condition: Good, especially for being approx. 70 years old.Untested, sold as “used”, as is. We were unable to test it to see if it works because it needs to be hooked up to Single phase power source or perhaps to 220, More info: The conveyor has a motor and what appears to be a forward and reverse transmission, a chain drive from small to a large cog, two fuse boxes. See all photos. Under the conveyor belt there are metal rollers and the roller tracks have sets of 4 metal wheels per cross piece. Rollers include three pieces of track with adjustable vertical leg supports, straight track & curved track.One of curved roller tracks is mounted on a rolling stand with four casters on it More info: The motor and transmission have a single belt drive connecting the two. The manufacturer plate reads “Winfield H Smith, Inc., Springfield NY 4 & B” RE-USE, RE-PURPOSING: Great for the intended use in an industrial warehouse setting. This used conveyor belt system could be repurposed as architectural accents, for use in kinetic sculpture, and many other uses. To get some ideas you can look at the website for the CITY MUSEUM in St. Louis Missouri. It was an old shoe factory which had thousands of feet of conveyor belts in it. That is now a very artistic indoor amusement park and arts museum, discovery museum, art center, etc. Burning Man large scale, site-specific sculpture designers will find this of interest too. NOTE: Other than the missing power operation switch, it seems to be complete. As I recall, the power switch had a neutral button, acting as a clutch in between reverse and forward settings. The fuse boxes have a General Electric logo, motor is made by Winfield H. Smith Company, see information below. When assembled going up a staircase, the conveyor went at an incline rising 13 feet, then spanned a 4 foot landing and rose up an additional 16 ft incline. Total length: 33 ft. With elevated roller tracks on the lower and upper end you end up with approx 42 feet of conveyance system The conveyor system originally went up two flights of stairs in a warehouse building. The system has been disassembled and is in another building on the ground floor, with easy access to roll in with a truck or trailer. Loading out: The conveyor system & rollers are in a warehouse with concrete floor. The doorway measures 11 ft tall and 14 ft wide with paved driveway to street. If your truck is taller than 11 ft, it will need to park out on the street and you will need to load the pieces straight out to the truck or trailer. We don’t have a forklift, though a local forklift & operator may be arranged prior to pickup. Forklift fee is additional, payed directly to the forklift operator at loading time. Forklift fee is not included in the price of this eBay item. The forklift & operator would likely be $150 for up to 1 hour loading time.
