Oh Boy !!You are looking at a used vintage GRETSCH DRUMS 10×14 concert tom drum shell. First and foremost,Someone asked if the two shells I have on eBay fit modern heads that will spin, and if the shells are in round. Here is my answer: Thank you for asking. I do a lot of Rogers, but not much Gretsch. I thought Gretsch of this era fit heads, and it was the 1960s 6 ply that were tight. So I just checked.The 10×14 spins a Remo pinstripe and even a Sonor head, on the top, and fits. The bottom side fits those heads, but a bit tight.The 8×12 not so lucky. Remo heads and Evans I tried would not even go on tight or at all. So that one needs those Aquarian heads made for oversize Gretsch. I did not have one to try, so I m assuming they might work. According to the Rob Cook with John Sheridan Rebeats Gretsch Drum Book on page 90: It has a second sequence serial number #116437. It has Stop Sign Badge #3, Dates to 1979-1981. It is an incomplete parts shell. No parts remain except the stop sign GRETSCH badge, black ebony wrap, paper label and grommet There are scratches and scuffs in the wrap with no fade problems. There is one two inch crack in the black ebony wrap, starting at the badge. It is shown in the photos. There are no other cracks in the wrap. It has silver paint inside which is still mostly clean. The bearing edges have a small ding or two, so I’m going to mention it. I think this is a six ply shell. The Gretsch Book says it is. The size is 10×14. That is a 14 inch head, 10 inch deep shell. It is made with no reinforcement rings. It needs one eight hole 14 inch rim. This is an eight lug drum shell, one sided. Please remember, parts are missing, it’s just a shell with badge, paper label and grommet. The stop sign badge remains, and has not been off the drum. There are no tone control holes on a one headed concert tom. This drum shell will be a good project, for a player.Photos show the flaws, and are part of the description. The seam is not lifting. The drum shell is ready to go, and you can further do what you want to it. This is a project, but might be a nice sounding addition to someone’s player’s kit. This shell itself weighs 2 pounds and 12.5 ounces. Nice and light. If you can use this shell, don’t miss out.We left any further detailing or cleaning to you. I have the matching 8×12 concert tom shell in another auction. It also has no parts or lugs. I have the matching 10×14 concert tom shell in this auction. It has no parts or lugs. They both have their matching stop sign badge, grommet, and paper label. Check it out, buy both and save on shipping for those two. I can do the two in one box, carefully packed, for sure. Pay the shipping for the 10×14, the 8×12 rides for free. I could also do all three with the matching 14×24, in another auction. in one box if you buy all three.It still has some parts, and missing other parts, check it out, I would rather not ship the big boy, due to expense, but if you really want it, let me know. I’ll look into cheaper shipping for you than USPS ground advantage. If you buy all three, the 12 and 14 can be shipped with the 24.
